Motoko by UnGainlyTramp Motoko by UnGainlyTramp
I've meant to do a drawing of my current most favourite femle cartoon character for some time. Motoko Kusanagi, created by Masumune Shirow, who's artwork I've been collecting since the late 1980's.

The pose or the car is not traced from anything nor did I have any kind of model sheet to work from. I'm not used to drawing car interiors (or exteriors for that matter) but I feel the need to expand my artist expression with some mecha as well as sexy pinup art. It's not as neat as I would like it to be but I figure all I need is practise.

I also noticed I screwed up the shifter. The shift display is to the right of the shifter and it should be to the left. However, this is a car that doesn't exist and I could argue the steering wheel is interchangable to either side, but the gear display is not.

Y'know, the only "pick" I have with this image is with the car. Driving in Japan, the steering wheel is on the right, like in England, since they drive on the left side of the road. Otherwise, well done.

(Nice save with the "interchangeable steering wheel" comment in the "Artist's Comments" section, though.

Pretty good, that perspective is quite difficult

Thanks! And you're right, it was difficult. The best I had to help me for reference was a 1:18 scale model of a car. I wish I had a camera with a macro lense so I could take close up pictures of models and just trace them for background. It would save me a lot of work.
